FAQ – ERE Certificates
As electric driving becomes more common, new ways to measure and reward sustainable charging are emerging. One of these is the ERE certificate scheme, which allows CO₂ savings from electric vehicle charging to be converted into certificates with financial value.
We regularly receive questions about how ERE certificates work, whether Peblar charging stations are suitable, and what steps are required to participate. To help clarify this, we’ve collected the most frequently asked questions below.
-
ERE certificates represent the CO₂ savings achieved through electric driving. By registering the charging of an electric vehicle, these savings can be converted into ERE certificates with a financial value. In this way, sustainable charging can generate additional revenue.
-
ERE certificates and the associated compensation cannot be claimed via Peblar.
The registration, booking and payout of ERE certificates is handled by an ERE registration service provider. These are independent parties that, on your behalf:
- register the charged kilowatt-hours (kWh);
- book the ERE certificates in the official register;
- sell the certificates and pay out the compensation.
There are several registration service providers active in the market. You are free to choose which party you work with.

For questions about:
- how the ERE scheme works;
- the compensation you can expect;
- which data or reports are required;
- and how the registration process works;
-
To participate in the ERE scheme, a charging station must meet two key requirements:
- MID-certified energy meter
The charging station must be equipped with a certified MID meter in order to officially register energy consumption. - Available reporting of charged kWh
A report of the charged kilowatt-hours must be available so this data can be submitted to an ERE registration partner.

You can physically check the charging station:
- Look at the laser marking on the housing.
- At the top of the marking (for example where “AC Charger” is shown), the model type is indicated.
- The absence of energy meter markings can also be an indication.

Important:
- If the model type is Peblar Home and no energy meter markings are visible, the charging station does not have an MID-certified meter.
- If the model type is Home Plus or Business, the charging station does have an MID-certified meter.
- If the model type differs from Home, Home Plus or Business, we recommend contacting:
- the installer;
- the Charge Point Operator (CPO);
- and/or the white-label manufacturer.
- They can best inform you about the specifications of your charging station and the possibilities regarding the ERE scheme.
-
Official proof that the Peblar Home Plus and Peblar Business series are equipped with an MID-certified energy meter is available in the form of MID certificates.
These certificates can be downloaded via the following links:
- Type Examination Certificate – Download
- Quality System Approval – Download
- Declaration of Conformity – Download
The MID certificates can also be used as supporting documentation for ERE registration service providers when registering your charging station for the ERE scheme.
-
No, this is not possible.
The Peblar Home differs in several hardware aspects from the Home Plus and Business series. The meter/charger in a Peblar Home is not produced according to the MID process and:
- cannot be converted via a software update;
- cannot be upgraded through a hardware retrofit.
To equip a charging station with an MID-certified meter, the charger must, among other things:
- be produced using specific, certified measurement components;
- be assembled according to established MID procedures;
- and be individually tested and validated.
These production and testing processes can only be performed in our production facilities and are not possible remotely or via retrofit.
-
There are several ways to view the energy consumption of your Peblar charging station:
- Web interface (charging history & export)
With firmware version 1.7.1 or higher, you can view and export your charging history via the web interface. The data is available as a CSV or PDF file. - Web interface (meter reading)
The total meter reading is also displayed in the web interface. - Charging station display
The current meter reading can be read directly from the display of the charging station.
Please note: an ERE registration partner may impose additional requirements on the format or method of submitting charging data.

Peblar is currently in discussions with multiple providers to enable an integration for ERE certificates. Once concrete agreements have been made and more information becomes available, Peblar will actively communicate this.
While ERE registration is currently handled by independent service providers, Peblar is actively exploring integrations to make the process easier in the future.
If you have questions about your specific charger model, want to verify MID certification, or need guidance on reporting your energy usage, please contact your installer or Peblar support.
