My Peblar charger is not charging or charging at low power
There are multiple factors that can influence the charging speed.
Check in the web interface (How to connect to the web interface via Wifi) the limiting source, by going to the ‘System’ tab, and then the ‘Diagnostics’ tab.
If you cannot see live diagnostics, please make sure that the firmware is up to date, and at least firmware 1.5.0 or higher is installed.
The current limiting source will provide information on why the Peblar charger is not charging at its full potential. It is important to note that the EV is always leading in any charging session. The charging power cannot therefore be higher than the demand of the EV.
The following table contain all possible limiting sources for charging, with a description and potential resolution.
Current control limiting source |

Contact your installer. |
Limitation by the maximum rating of the fixed cable |
The charger is limited by the maximum rating of the fixed cable. |
No solution readily available. |
Thermal limitation |
The charger is purposely limited to lower the internal temperatures. |
No solution readily available until the internal temperature has dropped. |
Backend enforced installation limit |
The backend does not allow a higher charging current. |
Contact the back office supplier/installer. |
Dynamic load balancing |
The charger is reducing the charging current to ensure that the maximum capacity of the phases/installation is not exceeded. |
Reduce the load on the phases and installation such that the charger can use more power. If the load balancing source is unavailable, please contact your installer/wholesaler. In the case of HomeWizard P1 dongle connections: (How To Link to No/Poor Connection with HomeWizard). |
Group load balancing |
The charger is limited by the available power in the configured group. |
Reduce the power consumption of the other chargers in the group. |
User cable |
For Peblar Business variants only: The charger is limited by the maximum rating of the user cable. |
Change the user cable to one with a higher current rating. |
Overcurrent protection |
The charger is reducing the output to protect the installation against overcurrent. |
No solution readily available. |
Physical hardware limit |
The charger Is physically limited to provide a higher charging output. |
No solution readily available. |
Power factor limitation |
The power factor of the EV causes the charger to limit the charging speed. |
No solution readily available. If this occurs a lot, please contact the installer/wholesaler. |
OCPP smart charging |
The back office is limiting the charging speed. |
Contact the back office supplier. |
Phase imbalance monitoring |
The charger is reducing the output because the power difference between the phases is too big. |
Germany/Austria: No solution available. It is not allowed to charge with a higher current. Other countries: Contact the CPO/installer to disable the functionality. |
Local scheduled charging |
The charger is following the charging schedule. |
Change/update the charging schedule. |
Limited due to solar charging strategy |
The charger is following the solar charging strategy. [My Peblar charger does not start charging in smart solar modus] |
Change the smart charging strategy. |
Current limiter slider in web interface |
The charger is limited by the configured maximum charging current in the slider of the web interface. |
Change the slider to a higher, or lower value. |
The limit of the REST API |
The charger is limited by the device that controls the local API (e.g. an EMS sends a charging limit value). |
Change the settings of the controlling device. |
The limit of the Modbus TCP API |
The charger is limited by the device that controls the local API (e.g. an EMS sends a charging limit value). |
Change the settings of the controlling device. |
External input signal limiting |
The charger is limited by digital inputs. Only relevant in Germany. |
No solution readily available. The DSO controls the fuse box. |
Household power capacity limit |
The charger is limited by the household power slider. |
Adjust the household slider in the web interface. Especially relevant for the capacity tariff in Belgium. |
