As part of our mission to make EV charging more efficient and future ready, we’re proud to announce that Peblar chargers now support the Xemex Smart Connect series. By reading energy data directly from smart meters, our customers can take even smarter charging decisions.
Xemex’s Smart Connect dongles provide a reliable way to retrieve data from a smart meter, with real-time monitoring, and then convert and distribute the data for other devices to utilise.
With this new integration, Peblar chargers can read real-time energy consumption via Xemex’s P1 and TIC interfaces, including the Linky smart meter in France, and provide additional functionality including smart charging, dynamic load balancing, and solar charging1.
By using a hardwired Ethernet connection, the data source is stable and consistent, avoiding the connection losses sometimes seen with wireless or cloud-dependent alternatives.
Designed for wholesalers, installers, charge point operators (CPOs) and utilities, the main goal of this integration is to improve installation reliability, enhance operational efficiency, and provide access to advanced charging functionalities.
Installers form an integral part of the Peblar ecosystem and the new Xemex Smart Connect series integration remains easy to install and implement, aligning with Peblar’s overall ambition to keep installation simple.
Peblar chargers can now be delivered pre-commissioned with hardwired P1 or TIC readout, reducing the time and effort needed for installation on site. This ensures the charger is ready to operate immediately.
The Xemex Smart Connect integration was released in the Peblar Firmware 1.9 update and is now available across all applicable Peblar products included in this update. Firmware 1.9 also allows installers to manually enter the IP address of the Xemex Smart Connect if automatic connection is not successful.
With this integration, Peblar chargers offer a more reliable, efficient, and installer-friendly solution for EV charging installations. It combines stable energy measurement, simplified installation, and flexible operational features to support the needs of wholesalers, installers, CPOs, and utilities alike.

The Smart Connect TIC only reads data that the smart meter makes available through the TIC port. The resolution and timeliness of this data depend on the configuration of the meter and the grid operator. In situations involving solar panels, feed-in information may be delayed or limited. As a result, the displayed production or feed-in may differ from inverter data. Smart Connect TIC is intended for insight and control based on meter data, not as a replacement for dedicated PV monitoring.
